Verse 9-1
Celebrate life, it’s a gift,
Like the sands . . . it can drift.
Experience every new sunrise
With an open heart and open eyes.
To be alive . . .
Is to see, to hear, to feel,
But touching others’ lives, makes it real.
Enjoy time with family and friends,
A kind of love that never ends.
Enjoy the moon, the stars, the sun,
Make every day a memorable one.
With Love,

Verse 9-2 ~ As Friends ~
As friends we have built a bond over the years,
Sharing our joys, and yes even some tears.
As friends we have shared secrets and more,
Bringing us closer than ever before.
As friends we have laughed and had our fun,
And teasing each other, we will never be done.
As friends I have found a valuable friend,
One in whom I know I can depend.
As friends we share a love for each other,
That cannot be compared to any other.
I am so happy you as a friend!
Love,

Verse 9-4 Enjoy Today, Tomorrow May Never Come
(Name)
Greet your loved ones with a hug and a kiss,
So they will know they are loved, whether in sunshine or bliss.
Take time in your life to relax and play,
Whether it is morning, afternoon or end of day.
Treat each moment with gusto and flair,
Cherishing life, that breath of fresh air.
Appreciate the miracle of hearing and sight,
Living your life to the fullest, with all your might.
Dance to the music, enjoy the sound,
Let your happiness and joy always be found.
Live your life as if tomorrow may never come,
Enjoy each day that you have, every one.
Remember your prayers to the Lord above,
Who gave us the greatest gift, the gift of Love.
Love,

Verse 9-5 Mom’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Mom’s in the kitchen with her apron on,
Busy baking since the crack of dawn.
Good old mom is mixing up some dough,
Of course, there will be no measuring though.
A little of this, a little of that,
Promising to keep out most of the fat!
Adding flour and sugar and lots of chips,
Oh, just can’t wait for them to hit my lips.
Also added, is tender love and care,
Impatiently waiting to eat them, do I dare?
Grab a spoonful of dough to eat,
Tons of chips and nuts, oh so sweet.
Down a glass of milk to drink,
All that’s let, dishes in the sink.
Mom, thanks for all the times you bake us cookies,
cakes, and everything else. We appreciate you!
Love,

Verse 9-6 Hastings My Home Town
Back in the days of old,
Our ancestors knew the mystery,
Of the Spiral Bridge that now makes history.
The LeDuc Mansion, an old church steeple,
The Courthouse Rotunda, and the Railroad Depot.
Horse and carriage, and model t’s,
And the Gardner Hotel are fond memories.
The barges still float down the Mississippi River,
The turns they take make your heart quiver.
The Hastings Raiders, our hometown team,
Play their best to make us scream.
The City of Hastings is a special place to be,
To own a home and raise a family.

Verse 9-7
(Name)
Retirement – A New Beginning
(Date of retirement or Years of Service)
After all these years of going to work,
you now can retire with a smirk.
Knowing that every day you did your best,
Especially when you are put to the test.
You have certainly earned our trust and respect,
Now enjoy the retirement that you did select.
No more traffic jams or clocks to punch,
Or worrying how long to take for lunch.
So, sit back and enjoy the serenity and peace,
Knowing that the rat race now will cease.
Peace and tranquility you do deserve,
For all the years that you did serve.
Life as you knew it will not be the same,
Now the hours in your day, you can reclaim.
Retirement is not an end, but a beginning.

Verse 9-8 To Be Forty!
Though you may have turned 40 now,
I think your life should be different somehow.
You still like to do the things you did as a child,
But remembering those days, you were a bit more wild.
You are wiser now than you were back then
Or at least I think so, as you now snooze in the den.
When you were just a child you learned to ride a bike,
But at this age, anything with wheels you seem to like.
And when you were young, the comics you liked to read,
Now you are 40, and still readying them oh yes indeed.
Your memory hasn’t seemed to change a lot
All the things you try to remember but cannot.
With all of this experience in your life that you have won,
With God’s blessings, next year . . . you’ll turn 41!
Happy 40th Birthday,

Verse 9-9 Sixteen
(name)
Away with Barbie dolls and other toys,
In with lots of friends, including boys.
Away with pretty bows and little pig-tails,
In with shopping malls, and looking for sales.
Away with Disney and zip-a-dee-doo,
In with rock music, for that suits you.
Away with a bike with a flashing light,
In with a driver’s license, now that’s dynamite.
Away with an allowance and all that stuff,
In with a job, just hoping to earn enough.
Almost an adult, but not quite yet,
It will come soon enough, you can surely bet.
So enjoy the movies, the dancing, and the sports,
And all the dates with handsome escorts.
Lay back and enjoy the time in the sun,
You are only young once, savor the fun!
Happy 16th Birthday

Verse 9-10 ~ Mom and Dad ~
You are so very special to me,
As loving and caring as can be.
You’ve given me so very much,
And how I cherish your gentle touch.
I love to hear you reminisce about the days of old,
And about all the stories that have been told.
I love all the hugs and kisses that you gave,
Even when I didn’t behave.
You’ve helped me through the good times and the bad,
I have the best mom any one could ever have had.
I hope someday I can repay,
All that you have given to me,
Because you are the best parents ever to be.
I Love You Both!

Verse 12-1 (To daycare provider from children)
~ (name of provider), My Day Care Mom ~
Though my birth mom you are not,
I care for you so much, I love you a lot.
You’ve taught me my ABC’s and 1, 2, 3’s,
And about butterflies, dinosaurs, and honeybees.
I’ve left my fingerprints on your windows and walls,
On the mirrors and down the halls.
You have wiped my tears, and my little runny nose,
Tickled my tummy and my ten little toes.
You got me to laugh when I was sad,
Sometimes telling silly jokes till I was glad.
The love you gave, the time you shared,
I’ll always remember how much you cared.
You gave me a place to be safe and sound,
While mom and dad were at work ... not around.
I loved the hugs and kisses that you gave to me,
“You Are The Best Day Care Mom Ever To Be”.
Love,
